INGREDIENTS AND DIRECTION
½ cup of softened butter
1 cup of sugar
¼ teaspoon of salt
¾ teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 eggs
¼ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ cup of sour milk
1 cup flour and 6 tablespoons of flour
 
Take butter, sugar, salt and vanilla and cream together until fluffy. Add eggs and make sure mixture is well blended. Add portion of sour milk to sugar mixture slowly. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and baking soda. Add portion of flour mixture slowly to sugar mixture and then add remaining sour milk. Add remaining flour mixture and make sure batter is well blended. Put batter into 9 x 5 inch pan. If the pan is made of metal, preheat oven to 325 degrees. If the pan is made of glass, preheat oven to 300 degrees. Bake cake at appropriate temperature for 50 to 60 minutes. Test cake with toothpick to ensure cake is cooked fully. Allow cake to cool entirely before loosening the sides of the cake from the pan and carefully removing it.
