3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 beaten egg
1 2/3 cup milk
¼ cup oil
¾ cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and oil a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. In a second bowl add beaten egg, milk and oil. Slowly add flour mixture to egg mixture until they are fully combined. Beat mixture until smooth and stir nuts into batter. Pour bread batter into a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Bake for 1 to 1 ¼ hours or until toothpick inserted into middle of bread comes out clean. Cool the pan for at least 10 minutes before attempting to remove bread. After bread is removed, place on wire racks and allow it to cool entirely before cutting.
