3 to 3 ¼ cups vegetable broth
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 cup hulled or pearl barley
1 cup short grain brown rice
Pick over, rinse and drain rice and barley. Heat vegetable broth in a pot until boiling then add barley, rice and soy sauce. Cook until barley and rice are done. Taste and adjust seasonings as necessary. Fluff mixture with fork before serving.
