1/3 cup oats
1/3 cup raisins
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/3 teaspoon salt
½ cup warm water
1/3 cup whole wheat flour
1 ½ cup all purpose flour
1 package active dry yeast
Combine oats, raisins, brown sugar, salt, whole wheat flour and all purpose flour in a bowl.
Combine whole wheat flour, salt and all purpose flour in a bowl and mix together. Stir raisins into flour mixture and then add oats and brown sugar. Mix and set aside Heat ½ cup water to 105 to 115 degrees F and add dry active yeast. Stir yeast and water until dissolved then pour into dry ingredients. Mix ingredients together until dough forms. Remove dough from bowl and place on a flat floured surface. Knead dough for 5 minutes then set aside to rise. Allow dough to rise until doubled in size then punch down. Form a bread shape with the dough and allow dough to rise again on an oiled baking sheet. When dough has doubled in size for second time, place in the center of a preheated oven (375 degrees F) and bake for 30 minutes or until done. Bread is done when tapped on the bottom produces a hollow sound.
