3 tablespoons white flour
1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
2 tablespoons sweetened cocoa powder
3 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
5 tablespoons plain soy milk
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup water
Preheat oven to 355 degrees F and oil a baking dish. Combine flour, sugar and unsweetened cocoa together. Cut in shortening. Stir in soymilk and then a few tablespoons of water until you have a moist batter. Place batter in baking dish. Put sweetened cocoa powder, brown sugar, and a cup of water into a saucepan and stir until cocoa and sugar has dissolved. Pour sauce over cake and place in preheated oven. Bake cake for 35 minutes or until cooked. Remove from oven, let cool and sprinkle with white sugar or confectioner’s sugar before serving.
