3 cups of flour
1 package of dry yeast (1/4 oz size)
1/2 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoons of sugar
1 1/4 cups of warm water
Cornmeal
Do not preheat oven. Mix flour, salt, sugar and yeast together. Slowly add water until dough is no longer sticky and knead for 8 minutes. Allow bread to rise until it has doubled in size and punch down the dough. Form bread into a loaf and place on baking sheet with thin layer of cornmeal on it. Place in center of cold oven and bake at 400 degrees for ½ hour. Decrease heat to 375 degrees and bake for another 15 minutes or until cooked. Bread should have a hollow sound when thumped after baking process is complete. Serve warm.
